Wednesday Afternoon

Dad continues to show improvement. He's walking around the entire floor now. Told the nurse he wants to go down to M Street. He's still in the ICU until a bed becomes available, so he cannot receive any visitors and we're not sure yet what the policy will be once he moves. He has been reunited with his iPad and is checking email and this blog from time to time. I'm sure he would be happy to read messages of encouragement. My parents really appreciate all of your love and support. My mom says she can feel all of good thoughts and prayers sustaining them as Dad starts his road to recovery.

  2. Hooray for technology. I think I would go crazy without my laptop or phone available.

    Sending prayers from Indiana!

  3. I can just see him with his unique gait walking the halls at a quick pace. I makes my heart happy to hear of his progress. I am sure John will be the perfect example of recovery from a liver transplant!

  11. I'm really glad you're recovering, Bishop Kippen. The ward is praying for you, it's amazing how well you seem to be getting through this. Sounds like you're already back on your feet- I'm sure it won't be too much longer before you're leading the pack on jogs again and the like. Way to go, Bishop!

  12. Hey John and Barb!

This is really Beth, not Chuck, writing, but we both just got back from a run in your honor. We are so glad to hear about your progress! You've been an inspriration to me--today I ran 4 miles at a pace of 12.46 (not fast, I know, but faster than I've run all winter!). My plan is to run at least 6 miles on Saturday. Barb--shall we come pick you up in Georgetown? We could figure out a route near the hospital and then give John a hard time. Hope you will both soon be home! Take care, Beth
